TheGayAgenda.FYI is the next iteration of the OutAndAbout project. While the core mission remains the same - connecting the LGBTQ+ community with local events - this revitalized version incorporates cutting-edge AI technologies and a more robust, user-friendly interface.

What is it?

TheGayAgenda.FYI is an advanced website that curates and lists the latest LGBTQ+ events happening in various cities. It uses state-of-the-art AI to find, parse, and present events, all in one convenient place.

The challenge of finding queer connections in a new city remains as relevant as ever. TheGayAgenda.FYI builds on the foundation of OutAndAbout, providing a comprehensive list of community events. Whether you're looking for parties, D&D gatherings, drag shows, or anything in between, it's all here in one place.

How it works

TheGayAgenda.FYI features a modern Next.js frontend, supported by an advanced AI-driven backend:

Enhanced Source Discovery

We've improved our web-crawler and query manager to more effectively source queer organizations across multiple cities. The system now uses custom-trained Large Language Models (LLMs) to better identify and process potential sources.

Improved Event Extraction

Once a source is identified, our upgraded system monitors for events more efficiently. We now use the latest LLMs, including custom-trained models, to parse content from websites and social media. This allows for more accurate identification of:

• Event occurrences
• Event frequency (one-off or recurring)
• Event relevance and type
• Detailed event information (time, place, host, cost)
• Rich metadata, including images and descriptions

Advanced Event Processing

After an event is added to our database, we employ more sophisticated AI processes to:

• Generate comprehensive, human-like descriptions
• Categorize events using custom-trained LLMs for more accurate and nuanced classification
• Enhance event details with additional contextual information

This upgraded pipeline ensures a more accurate, comprehensive, and user-friendly presentation of LGBTQ+ events.

While the system is designed for high autonomy, we maintain careful oversight to ensure quality and relevance.
